Dr. Young is a member of Fairp·eld's j,·rst class
that included women. Since graduating /rom
Fa1·rj,·eld, Dr. Young earned her M.A. in
Interdisciplinary Studies and her Ph.D. 1·n
African American Studies at Emory Un1·versity.
Dr. Young is an instructor of Engl1·sh in the
Humanities Department of Georgia Perimeter
College. Previously, she was one of the Academic
Deans in the Off;ce of Academic Affairs at Dillard Un1·vers1·ty. In addition,
she has held various posib"ons at Clark Atlanta Un1·versdy, including that
of Ass1·stant Professor 1·n the Department of Enghsh.
