Rev. Dennis McNally, S.]. is a painter and sculptor whose work has
been exhibited throughout the United States. He is Associate
Professor and Chair of the Department of Fine Arts at St. Joseph's
University, where he is Executive Director of the University
Gallery. He holds a Bachelor's degree in History, Philosophy, and
Language from Fordham University, and a Master's Degree in Art
Education and a Ph.D. in Studio Art from New York University. His
extensive research on surroundings that produce feelings of awe
and holiness has resulted in the publication of his book, Sacred Space.

The Bellarmine Lecture Series by Distinguished Jesuit Scholars was
established in recognition of St. Robert Bellarmine, a sixteenth century
theologian, under whose spiritual patronage Fairfield University was founded.
