DOCTORS' COMMEMORATIVE STAMP
A speciol 3-cent stamp in honor of the doctors of America will be first placed on sale at Atlantic City, N. ]. ,
on June 9, 1947. The central design of this stamp is a reproduction of the painting "The Doctor." The stamp
will be 0.84" by 1.44", arunged horizontally, printed by the rotary process and issued in panes of 50. An initial
printing of 125,000,000 stamps has been ordered.
Collectors desiring first-day cancellations of this stamp on June 9 may send addressed envelopes, not in excess
of 10, to the Postmaster, Atlantic City, N. J., with postal note or money order to cover cost of the stamps. Po11age
J/ampJ and perwna/ check1 will no/ be accepJed in payment. Envelopes should be of regular size, and enclosures
of medium weight should be inserted in each envelope and the flap turned in or sealed. Each cover should be
pencil marked in the upper right corner to show number of stamps to be affixed. Requests should not be made for
unusual arrangements and special markings.

Collectors are asked not to send a covering envelope for first-day cancellations. To expedite handling, first-day
covers will be canceled by machine so far as practicable.

doctors' stamp wi ll be on sale at the Philatelic Agency, \'Vashington 25 , D. C. , on June 10, 1947. .Mail orders to

Agency does not service first-day covers.
