School opened c l a s s e s F a i r f i e l d University was chartered by the S t a t e of Connecticut giving it power t o grant degrees. F i r s t c l a s s of 303 male students was admitted t o the College of A r t s and Sciences. F i r s t summer session of undergraduate courses was held. F i r s t graduate c l a s s e s i n education were held on a coeducational b a s i s . Graduate School of opened.
