a typical Japanese family; acclaimed by all critics as a masterpiece.

Feb. 26 - THE LADY VANISHES. One of Hitchcock's best: suspense,
humor, and murder on board a train. Two shows at 7:00 and 9:30.
March 5 - VIRIDIANA. This Spanish film by Luis Bunuel contains
many of his favorite themes: ·oruelty, ugliness, blasphemy and
perverted sex. Two shows at 7:00 and 9:30.
March 12 - SALESMAN. A cinema-verite account of door-to-door
Bible salesman. Directed by the Maysles brothers (Gimme
Shelter). One screening at 7:00.
March 19 - VIRGIN SPRING. Bergman's tale of rape, murder and
revenge - set in medieval Sweden. With Max Von Sydow. One
show at 7:00.
April I - LITTLE BIG MAN. Dustin Hoffman as the sole survivor of
Custer's last stand.
April 2 - Two shows each night at 7:00 and 9:30.
April 9 - REPULSION. Roman Polanski's macabre tale of a girl
tormented by her craving for and loathing of men. Catherine
Deneuve stars. Two shows at 7:00 and 9:30.
April 16 - IF •.• Rebellion in an exclusive English public school. This
is Malcolm McDowell's first film and perhaps his best too. Two
shows at 7:00 and 9:30.
April 23 - THE DEVILS. Ken Russell's film of "demonaic masques
and blasphemous orgies ... a superb glimpse of hell.11 Vanessa
Redgrave and Oliver Reed star. Two shows at 7:00 and 9:30.
April 30 - SOLDIER BLUE. Candice Bergen stars as the girl who is
captured and beoomes the chief's squaw in "the most honest
Western ever made." Two shows at 7:00 and 9:30.
May 7 - THE BIG SLEEP. Bogart in top form. Two shows: 7:00 and
9:30.
All films will be shown in Gonzaga Auditorium. Foreign pictures
have English sub-titles. The public is invited. Admission is 75 cents ..•
but note that a special Foreign Film Series ticket is available. It costs
$1.75 and is valid for all four foreign language pictures (Feb. 5, 19;
March 5, 19). This reduces the p rice of each film to 43 cents! The
special ticket is on sale at the door.
